As you can see in the collage above, Anika's favoooorite food is Chivda! The left side is a half eaten bowl of Chivda. She loves the 🌶, savory and crispy flavor of this awesome snack!
Anika's developed this taste since 1.5 yo to 2 yo, right after Diwali when it was made at home! She is an ardent fan of pohe (dried flattened rice ) right from an infant stage. As parents we never tried to restrict her from experimenting the flavors that adults would eat , not even making a separate, less spicy recipe for snack and food. Anika loves spicy food ( of course we take out the chilli pieces when putting food in her plate!). It's interesting that she has a liking toward savory things than sweet foodstuff , especially knowing how big her mom is a sweet tooth. I'm claiming that this is coming from my side of the X Chomosome since I love Chivda too!
Well I just hope that she continues to keep living the asli flavor of desi cooking as she grows up!
